Record #125359:

In-situ measurement of the permeability of frazil ice / Kathleen D. White, Daniel E. Lawson.

Title: In-situ measurement of the permeability of frazil ice / Kathleen D. White, Daniel E. Lawson.
Author(s): White, Kathleen D.
Lawson, Daniel E.
Date: [1993]
Publisher: Edmonton, Alberta: University of Alberta, Department of Civil Engineering
In: IAHR 92; 11th International Symposium on Ice, Banff, Alberta, Canada, June 15-19, 1992. Proceedings. ([1993]), Vol.2.
Abstract: Intrinsic permeability of frazil deposit can be used to describe its flow capacity and structure. Describes application of borehole dilution test to determine seepage velocity, which is then used to calculate intrinsic permeability and to estimate porosity. Field tests on Tanana River, near Fairbanks, AK.
Notes:

In: IAHR 92; 11th International Symposium on Ice, Banff, Alberta, Canada, June 15-19, 1992. Proceedings. Vol.2. / International Association for Hydraulic Research.
