Record #125311:

A Late Quaternary moraine sequence dated by rock weathering rinds, Craigieburn Range, New Zealand / Karl E. Ricker, T.J. Chinn, M.J. McSaveney.

Title: A Late Quaternary moraine sequence dated by rock weathering rinds, Craigieburn Range, New Zealand / Karl E. Ricker, T.J. Chinn, M.J. McSaveney.

Abstract: Drainage basins preserve nearly complete Late Quaternary moraine sequence in this location. There are no radiocarbon dates, but moraine ages were determined by weathering-rind dating. Periods of expanded glaciers occurred five times between 0.53 and 16 ka BP. Three earlier periods of expanded glaciers are dated by inference, largely from ocean oxygen-isotope record.
