Record #125191:

Hydrothermal alteration in some volcano-sedimentary associations in Central Finnish Lapland / Pasi Eilu.

Title: Hydrothermal alteration in some volcano-sedimentary associations in Central Finnish Lapland / Pasi Eilu.
Author(s): Eilu, Pasi.
Date: 1993.
In: Geological Survey of Finland. Special Paper. (1993.), Vol. 18 (1993)
Abstract: Volcanic sequence of Central Lapland greenstones has locally undergone multi-stage synvolcanic hydrothermal alteration followed by regional metamorphic recrystallisation and replacement. Main hydrothermal event had three alteration phases: chloritisation, albitisation and carbonation. Later sericitisation ± chloritisation event was less pervasive. Talc was formed before regional metamorphism. Only evidence of post-metamorphic events at study sites today is tiny carbonate and haematite-filled fractures.
