Abstract: Model developed as tool for forecasting flows for hydropower operations. Designed to reduce uncertainties in flow forecasts that occur due to changes in flow resistance caused by ice and weeds. Components of model include steady and unsteady flow models, linear time-varying system model for inflow--outflow relation; nonlinear stochastic time-varying model of stage--discharge relation; and Kalman filtering model.
