| Abstract: | Abstract. Ice core drilled to bedrock by Greenland Ice Sheet Project 2 (GISP2) provides record of major soluble constituents of atmosphere over Greenland, which is particularly sensitive to palaeoenvironmental change. Selected examples of palaeoenvironmental interpretations developed from GISP2 glaciochemical series are presented, focusing on abrupt changes in atmospheric circulation, sea-ice distribution and other boundary conditions during major periods of climate change, such as Younger Dryas. |
