Numerical modeling of an ice cover leading edge / Semaan Sarraf, X.T. Zhang, N. El-Jabi.

Title: Numerical modeling of an ice cover leading edge / Semaan Sarraf, X.T. Zhang, N. El-Jabi.
Author(s): Sarraf, Semaan.
Zhang, X. T.
El-Jabi, N.
Date: [1993]
Publisher: Edmonton, Alberta: University of Alberta, Department of Civil Engineering
In: IAHR 92; 11th International Symposium on Ice, Banff, Alberta, Canada, June 15-19, 1992. Proceedings. ([1993]), Vol.1.
Abstract: Three empirical correlations (Colburn, Petukhov--Popov, Dittus--Boelter equations) were used in two-dimensional numerical model to compute heat flux at underside of river-ice cover. All three equations yield constant values of heat-transfer coefficient. Computational results obtained with newly derived formula compared well with experimental data.
