Record #125145:

Winter thermal regime of a nordic reservoir, the LG2 reservoir (James Bay) / Octave Caron, Pierre Depuis, Pierre Pelletier.

Title: Winter thermal regime of a nordic reservoir, the LG2 reservoir (James Bay) / Octave Caron, Pierre Depuis, Pierre Pelletier.
Author(s): Caron, Octave.
Depuis, Pierre.
Pelletier, Pierre.
Date: [1993]
Publisher: Edmonton, Alberta: University of Alberta, Department of Civil Engineering
In: IAHR 92; 11th International Symposium on Ice, Banff, Alberta, Canada, June 15-19, 1992. Proceedings. ([1993]), Vol.1.
Abstract: Part of hydroelectric complex in Quebec. During winter, discharge from reservoir provides appreciable influx of heat downstream, which affects thermal regime and, therefore, hydraulic and ice regimes of river. Describes monitoring programme to follow this effect, reviewing instrumentation and logistics, data acquired and analysis, with emphasis on vertical thermal profile of reservoir. Analysis is performed on time series and spatially distributed profiles to establish thermal response of reservoir in winter.
