The flow properties of crushed ice: experimental observation and apparatus / Paul A. Spencer, Daniel M. Masterson, J. Lucas, Ian J. Jordaan.

Title: The flow properties of crushed ice: experimental observation and apparatus / Paul A. Spencer, Daniel M. Masterson, J. Lucas, Ian J. Jordaan.
Author(s): Spencer, Paul A.
Masterson, Daniel M.
Lucas, J.
Jordaan, Ian J.
Date: [1993]
Publisher: Edmonton, Alberta: University of Alberta, Department of Civil Engineering
In: IAHR 92; 11th International Symposium on Ice, Banff, Alberta, Canada, June 15-19, 1992. Proceedings. ([1993]), Vol.1.
Abstract: Tests were conducted by squeezing 100 mm thick layer of crushed fresh-water ice with density of 550 kg m⁻³ between platens measuring 0.5x0.75 m at speeds up to 160 mm s⁻¹. At pressures <2 MPa, material was consistent with Mohr-Coulomb description; at pressures >5 MPa, it may be better described in terms of viscous fluid model.
Notes:

In: IAHR 92; 11th International Symposium on Ice, Banff, Alberta, Canada, June 15-19, 1992. Proceedings. Vol.1. / International Association for Hydraulic Research.
