Abstract: Abstract. Study of shallow convective circulation associated with brine rejection beneath refreezing leads. Model is forced at surface with buoyancy flux estimated from observed data for stationary and moving leads. Roles of non-hydrostatic effects and planetary rotation are illustrated. Experiments are contrasted with previous two-dimensional simulations.
