Abstract: Abstract. Flato and Hibler's (1992) spherical-grid cavitating-fluid sea-ice model is used to study behaviour of sea ice around Antarctica. Several changes were made to model to improve performance in cases with idealized forcings. This model is coupled to ocean general circulation model to study seasonal change of sea ice and thermohaline circulation.
