Record #125069:
High-resolution lacustrine record of the late glacial/Holocene transition in central Europe / Tomasz Goslar, and 11 others.
Title: | High-resolution lacustrine record of the late glacial/Holocene transition in central Europe / Tomasz Goslar, and 11 others. |
Author(s): | Goslar, Tomasz. |
Date: | 1993. |
In: | Quaternary Science Reviews. (1993.), Vol. 12(5) (1993) |
Abstract: | Presents proxy climatic data derived from annually laminated sediments of Lake Gościąz, central Poland, which confirm sudden changes of climate at onset and termination of Younger Dryas, in close agreement with evidence obtained elsewhere. Counting annual varves in lake sediments allows direct estimate of duration of Younger Dryas in central Europe (1640 years). Calendar ages of boundaries are set tentatively at 12,290 and 11,280 a BP. |
