Record #125058:
Global-scale imprints of abrupt climate shifts in Greenland ice cores / Gerard C. Bond, Wallace S. Broecker, Michael Lanman Prentice, Jerry McManus, Sean Higgins.
Title: | Global-scale imprints of abrupt climate shifts in Greenland ice cores / Gerard C. Bond, Wallace S. Broecker, Michael Lanman Prentice, Jerry McManus, Sean Higgins. |
Author(s): | Bond, Gerard C. Broecker, Wallace S. Prentice, Michael Lanman. McManus, Jerry. Higgins, Sean. |
Date: | 1993. |
In: | Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1993.), Vol. 74(43, supplement) (1993) |
Abstract: | Abstract. Brings together and compares records of cooling and warming cycles that have been identified worldwide. Key question arising from these observations is whether internal ice-sheet dynamics alone are sufficient to acount for global scale of abrupt climatic events, particularly in view of their presence in records from tropics. |
Notes: | Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. Vol. 74(43, supplement) :84-85 (1993). |
Keywords: | 551.321.2 -- Snow and ice, methods of sampling, excavating, drilling, etc. 622.14 -- Core sampling, ice and snow. 551.58 -- Climatology. 551.583 -- Climatic changes. 551.588.5 -- Climate, relationship with ice. E9 -- Glaciology: meteorology and climatology. (*38) -- Greenland. |
