Record #124825:

Sea ice deformation observed with ERS-1 SAR / D.A. Rothrock, H.L. Stern.

Title: Sea ice deformation observed with ERS-1 SAR / D.A. Rothrock, H.L. Stern.
Author(s): Rothrock, D. A.
Stern, H. L.
Date: 1993.
Publisher: Paris: European Space Agency
In: Proceedings of the First ERS-1 Symposium; Space at the Service of our Environment; 4-6 November 1992, Cannes, France. (1993.), Vol.1.
Abstract: Material properties of sea ice are reflected in spatial structure of field of ice motion. This structure is well sampled by sea-ice displacements computed by geophysical processor system (GPS). GPS at Alaska SAR Facility uses ERS-1 SAR images to generate ice motion, ice classification and ocean wave spectra. Preliminary analysis gives results for mean vorticity in Beaufort Gyre in agreement with published data derived from buoy and station data.
