Abstract: Abstract. Shows how distributed data can be used to assess spatial model predictions. Spatially distributed snowmelt is simulated in small catchment in Austria. Model performance is evaluated on basis of snow-cover depletion patterns derived from weekly air photographs. Basic model assumptions appear to be realistic.
