The role of ice in winter convection in the Odden region of the Greenland Sea indicated by satellite and in-situ data / Frank D. Carsey, John Crawford, I-Lin Tang.
Title: | The role of ice in winter convection in the Odden region of the Greenland Sea indicated by satellite and in-situ data / Frank D. Carsey, John Crawford, I-Lin Tang. |
Author(s): | Carsey, Frank D. Crawford, John. Tang, I-Lin. |
Date: | 1993. |
In: | Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1993.), Vol. 74(43, supplement) (1993) |
Abstract: | Abstract. Uses autumn 1989 CTD profiles to define initial conditions for winter cooling, special sensor microwave imager data to describes large-scale (100 km) changes in ice cover, and ERS-1 synthetic aperture radar data to describes areal extent of convective water. Observations are compared with expected ice extent as consequence of mixed layer properties predicted by simple model. |
Notes: | Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. Vol. 74(43, supplement) :324 (1993). |
