| Abstract: | Abstract. Data from scanning multichannel microwave radiometer (SMMR) 18 GHz and special sensor microwave imager (SSM/I) 19 GHz channels were analyzed for 1978-91. Within this period, unexpected trends were noted in annual brightness temperatures, which did not appear to be related to changes in physical temperatures, but rather to variations in effective emissivity. |
