Record #124538:

Performance of the NGM, AVN, LFM, and ETA models during the heavy snow event of April 20-21 1992 across the central plains: an observational diagnostic/comparison / Edward K. Berry.

Title: Performance of the NGM, AVN, LFM, and ETA models during the heavy snow event of April 20-21 1992 across the central plains: an observational diagnostic/comparison / Edward K. Berry.
Author(s): Berry, Edward K.
Date: 1993.
Publisher: Washington, DC: US Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atnospheric Administration, National Weather Sevice
Abstract: Presents northern-hemispheric-scale observational signal that is indicative of increased forecast errors and inconsistencies in operational numerical models. This particular snowstorm, centred over Nebraska and Iowa, is used as example for comparison of nested grid (NGM), aviation (AVM), limited-area fine mesh (LFM), and step mountain coordinate (ETA) models. Differences were considerable.
Notes:

Offprint: Third National Heavy Precipitation Workshop, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, November 16-20, 1992. Post-print volume.
