Record #124436:

Estimation of subglacial hydraulic properties from induced changes in basal water pressure: a theoretical framework for borehole-response tests / Dan B. Stone, Garry K.C. Clarke.

Title: Estimation of subglacial hydraulic properties from induced changes in basal water pressure: a theoretical framework for borehole-response tests / Dan B. Stone, Garry K.C. Clarke.
Author(s): Stone, Dan B.
Clarke, Garry K. C.
Date: 1993.
In: Journal of Glaciology. (1993.), Vol. 39(132) (1993)
Abstract: Develops theoretical model describing water motion in coupled borehole--subglacial flow system. Theory applied to basal drainage systems, having multiple and extensive interconnected flow paths, which have different hydraulic characteristics. Uses dimensionless formulation to predict responses of these systems. Demonstrates how theoretical description is used to estimate hydraulic parameters by comparing model results with data collected from field experiments on Trapridge Glacier, Yukon, in 1989 and 1990.
