Record #124426:

Airborne particles in snow / Jost Heintzenberg, Markku Rummukainen.

Title: Airborne particles in snow / Jost Heintzenberg, Markku Rummukainen.
Author(s): Heintzenberg, Jost.
Rummukainen, Markku.
Date: 1993.
In: Journal of Glaciology. (1993.), Vol. 39(132) (1993)
Abstract: In newly deposited snow, airborne particles could be traced down to 17 cm below surface. Particle sensor was used to measure snow ventilation at level of expected natural values. Simple deposition model shows that air/snow exchange of particles should be considered in interpretation of impurities in snow and glacier ice. Relative magnitude of ventilation velocity compared to dry-deposition velocities at surface is important for determining total deposition.
