Record #124416:

Creating temporally complete snow cover records using a new method for modelling snow depth changes / Marilyn Ginberg Hughes, David A. Robinson.

Title: Creating temporally complete snow cover records using a new method for modelling snow depth changes / Marilyn Ginberg Hughes, David A. Robinson.
Author(s): Hughes, Marilyn Ginberg.
Robinson, David A.
Date: 1993.
In: Glaciological Data. (1993.), Report GD-25 (1993)
Abstract: Availability of new daily climate data set provides opportunity to use daily snow-cover data from multiple weather stations for regional climate analysis. Set is used in development of empirically based statistical method for modelling changes in snow depth for Great Plains of USA. Long-term daily data from 62 stations with records extending back to turn of century are used. Method is more reliable than energy balance and temperature index methods because it relies on historical data to build statistical snow-depth change models.
