Record #124415:

Estimation of climatological shortwave albedo from microwave scattering cross sections at 5.3 and 9.25 GHz / David G. Barber, Ellsworth F. LeDrew.

Title: Estimation of climatological shortwave albedo from microwave scattering cross sections at 5.3 and 9.25 GHz / David G. Barber, Ellsworth F. LeDrew.
Author(s): Barber, David G.
LeDrew, Ellsworth F.
Date: 1993.
In: Glaciological Data. (1993.), Report GD-25 (1993)
Abstract: Series of electromagnetic interaction models are used to elaborate on role which geophysical properties play in defining microwave interaction with snow-covered sea ice, with main focus on estimation of climatological shortwave albedo from unique interaction of micro-wavelengths with seasonally variable snow-covered sea-ice volume. Sensitivity analyses conducted are considered to be typical of SAR scattering seasons: winter, early melt, melt onset, and advanced melt.
