Record #124299:

Large-scale ice fracture experiments: phase 1 / K.P. Kennedy, and 6 others.

Title: Large-scale ice fracture experiments: phase 1 / K.P. Kennedy, and 6 others.
Author(s): Kennedy, K. P.
Date: 1993.
Publisher: Hamburg: Hamburg Ship Model Basin (HSVA), Department for Ice and Environmental Technology
In: POAC 93 : the 12th International Conference on Port and Ocean Engineering under Arctic Conditions, 17.--20. August 1993, Hamburg. (1993.), Vol.2.
Abstract: In 1990, two-phase joint-industry project was initiated to calibrate fracture theory for incorporation into probabilistic global ice-load models. Phase 1 was completed in January 1992; fracture toughness, elastic modulus and other properties were determined for 13 full-thickness fresh-water ice specimens at scale 1:85. Background of experiment and test procedure are described and main findings are discussed generally; actual results remain proprietary until June 1994.
Notes:
