Record #124298:

Computation of sheet ice forces on a faceted conical structure / K. Izumiyama, M.B. Irani, G.W. Timco.

Title: Computation of sheet ice forces on a faceted conical structure / K. Izumiyama, M.B. Irani, G.W. Timco.
Author(s): Izumiyama, K.
Irani, M. B.
Timco, G. W.
Date: 1993.
Publisher: Hamburg: Hamburg Ship Model Basin (HSVA), Department for Ice and Environmental Technology
In: POAC 93 : the 12th International Conference on Port and Ocean Engineering under Arctic Conditions, 17.--20. August 1993, Hamburg. (1993.), Vol.2.
Abstract: Presents numerical method of computation, based on representation of ice forces due to breakup of oncoming ice sheet and subsequent rotation and ride-up of ice pieces on inclined faces of structure. Effect of rubble buildup is also taken into account. Method is validated with experimental test data.
