Record #124260:

Distribution of saline permafrost in the Northwest Territories, Canada / E.G. Hivon, D.C. Sego.

Title: Distribution of saline permafrost in the Northwest Territories, Canada / E.G. Hivon, D.C. Sego.
Author(s): Hivon, E. G.
Sego, D. C.
Date: 1993.
In: Canadian Geotechnical Journal. (1993.), Vol. 30(3) (1993)
Abstract: Database has been prepared to provide source of information on this subject. High pore-water salinities were found beneath coastal communities and at locations in upper Mackenzie valley and within delta. Salinity of inland sites is low. High salinities are associated with ice-poor materials and are linked with previous marine submergence associated with glacial events.
