Nonlinear primary and secondary creep deflection of ice plate under constant loading / Zengqiang Wu, Oskar H. Mahrenholtz.
Title: | Nonlinear primary and secondary creep deflection of ice plate under constant loading / Zengqiang Wu, Oskar H. Mahrenholtz. |
Author(s): | Wu, Zengqiang. Mahrenholtz, Oskar H. |
Date: | 1993. |
Publisher: | Hamburg: Hamburg Ship Model Basin (HSVA), Department for Ice and Environmental Technology |
In: | POAC 93 : the 12th International Conference on Port and Ocean Engineering under Arctic Conditions, 17.--20. August 1993, Hamburg. (1993.), Vol.1. |
Abstract: | Develops model in which it is assumed that tertiary creep is negligible. Creep curvature of ice plate is assumed to be composed of three parts: elastic, recoverable viscous, and permanent viscous curvatures. Deduces relations between bending moments and curvatures. Non-linear moment--curvature relations and equilibrium equations constitute differential equations for this problem. Nonlinear differential equations are solved by means of finite difference technique. Obtained approximate solution is compared with creep experiment on ice plates under centrally distributed loadings at --10°C up to 100 h. |
