A chlorofluoromethane and hydrographic section across Drake Passage: deep water ventilation and meridional property transport / Wolfgang Roether, Reiner Schlitzer, Alfred Putzka, Peter Beining, Klaus Bulsiewicz.
Title: | A chlorofluoromethane and hydrographic section across Drake Passage: deep water ventilation and meridional property transport / Wolfgang Roether, Reiner Schlitzer, Alfred Putzka, Peter Beining, Klaus Bulsiewicz. |
Author(s): | Roether, Wolfgang. Schlitzer, Reiner. Putzka, Alfred. Beining, Peter. Bulsiewicz, Klaus. |
Date: | 1993. |
In: | Journal of Geophysical Research. (1993.), Vol. 98(C8) (1993) |
Abstract: | Presents first measurements of chlorofluoromethanes CFM1 and CFM2 from section across Drake Passage obtained during WOCE. CFM concentrations found to decrease from surface down into Upper Circumpolar Deep Water, for which they confirm water renewal from south. Also presents CFM measurements for Lower Circumpolar Deep Water, Weddell Sea Deep Water and Southeast Pacific Deep Water. |
