| Abstract: | Describes development of model; in order to test accuracy, components of radiation balance equation are compared with field measurements obtained over two summer field seasons, 1984 and 1986, over snowfield on Niwot Ridge, CO and with published data. Model made use of Landsat TM spectral reflective bands in order to approximate surface albedo; some errors occur with this, but model will evolve as data from new satellite sensors become available. |
