| Abstract: | Large-scale melting phenomena (meltwater drainage channels, meltwater accumulation basins) have been surveyed on land-ice mass and were also detected in TM image recorded on 12 February 1990. Image-processing techniques such as principal components analysis, band ratioing and histogram-equalizing are carried out to emphasize melting phenomena. Histogram-equalized single TM Band 5 image appears to discriminate well, leaving melting phenomena as bright areas in TM scene. |
