Record #123517:

Blå, kvite og røde rever: Fredelig sameksistens eller konkurranse? / Karl Frafjord.

Title: Blå, kvite og røde rever: Fredelig sameksistens eller konkurranse? / Karl Frafjord.
Translated title: Blue, white and red foxes: Peaceful co-existence or competition?.
Author(s): Frafjord, Karl.
Date: 1993.
Language: Norwegian.
In: Ottar. (1993.), Vol. 196(3) (1993)
Abstract: Red and mountain fox use almost same resources and ranges overlap. Article describes ranges, sizes, seasonal coats and colour variations, diet, fat reserve, litter sizes and seasons, dens and roamings of both kinds. From their sizes and present behaviour, it seems as though red fox's range is restricted by temperature and external factors, that of mountain fox by red species. Remains of mountain fox, from ice ages, quite far south bear this out.
