Record #123506:

Gravity and GPS survey on the summit of the Greenland Ice Sheet 1991-1992 / Simon Ekholm, Kristian Keller.

Title: Gravity and GPS survey on the summit of the Greenland Ice Sheet 1991-1992 / Simon Ekholm, Kristian Keller.
Author(s): Ekholm, Simon.
Keller, Kristian.
Date: 1993.
Publisher: Copenhagen: National Survey and Cadastre - Denmark - Geodetic Division Technical Report 6
Abstract: Survey was carried out around GRIP (Greenland Icecore Project) base camp on summit of icecap. This is first time in Greenland that an ice-covered area of some size has been surveyed thoroughly on area basis. Objectives were: a) To provide high quality gravity anomaly set serving as ground truth control for large scale airborne gravimetry project, requiring accuracy better than 1 mgal. b) To collect set of three-dimensional positions for verification and calibration of radar altimeter on recently launched ERS-1, monitoring oceans and ice-covered surfaces beyond 72° latitude by satellite altimetry.
Keywords: 550.3 -- Geophysics.
550.831 -- Gravity survey methods.
528 -- Geodesy.
528.3 -- Surveying, geodetic and field.
528.37 -- Surveying, levelling.
527.62 -- Navigation, determination of position.
A -- Geophysical sciences (general).
(*38) -- Greenland.
