Record #123349:
Topography of the upper and lower surfaces of 10 hectares of deformed sea ice / Humfrey Melling, David R. Topham, David A. Riedel.
Title: | Topography of the upper and lower surfaces of 10 hectares of deformed sea ice / Humfrey Melling, David R. Topham, David A. Riedel. |
Author(s): | Melling, Humfrey. Topham, David R. Riedel, David A. |
Date: | 1993. |
In: | Cold Regions Science and Technology. (1993.), Vol. 21(4) (1993) |
Abstract: | Survey was carried out as part of study whose primary objectives were to describe and understand form drag and internal wave drag exerted by ocean on drifting pack ice. Geometries of ice features within survey region were not amenable to idealization as axially uniform structures. Site was instrumented for ten weeks with recording echo sounders and current meters to observe perturbations in oceanic flow field generated by deformed ice. |
