Record #123101:

Proper determination of the δ¹⁸O--δD relationship for ice and water by least-squares cubic regression / C.B. Burn, M.G. Maxwell.

Title: Proper determination of the δ¹⁸O--δD relationship for ice and water by least-squares cubic regression / C.B. Burn, M.G. Maxwell.
Author(s): Burn, C. B.
Maxwell, M. G.
Date: 1993.
In: Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences. (1993.), Vol. 30(1) (1993)
Abstract: Considers influence of measurement errors on derived relationship, rather than errors due to sampling and preparation procedures or to inadequate replication of individual samples. If individual error variances are known for each variable, either point by point or for each variable as blanket precision, it is appropriate to use either least-squares cubic method or functional analysis to determine correct regression line. Also helpful to report confidence limits so that physical significance may be assessed.
