Record #123082:

Unstable behaviour of the Laurentide ice sheet during the last glacial--interglacial transition / Peter U. Clark.

Title: Unstable behaviour of the Laurentide ice sheet during the last glacial--interglacial transition / Peter U. Clark.
Author(s): Clark, Peter U.
Date: 1993.
In: Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1993.), Vol. 74(16) (1993)
Abstract: Abstract. Well-dated records of fluctuations of ice-sheet margins at 20 to 6 ka BP indicate correspondence between these fluctuations and distribution of subglacial deforming sediment: bed deformation and fluctuations occurred where subglacial till was relatively continuous, fine-grained and of low permeability, i.e. till was derived primarily from underlying sedimentary bedrock. Stable ice-sheet behaviour occurred over till that was discontinuous, coarse-grained and of high permeability, i.e. derived from underlying crystalline bedrock.
Notes:

551.79 -- Quaternary.
E7 -- Glaciology: glacial geology and ice ages.
