| Abstract: | Report of 1993 Fenner Conference designed as open forum for discussion of conservation strategy proposed by Australian Antarctic Foundation (AAF). Keynote speeches included: history of conservation in Australian Antarctic Territory (AAT), improvement upon guidelines of Protocol on Environmental Protection to the Antarctic Treaty, science priorities and operations of Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE), tourism and fishery resources. Seven work groups produced recommendations on topics including protected areas, living resources, monitoring, legal aspects of assessment and planning, waste management, implementation and public education and participation. |
