| Abstract: | Describes occurrence, quantity and character of ice-rafted sediment, collected in 1988. Also includes analyses of four offshore sediment samples collected in 1971 and 1972. Estimates length of time that sediment has drifted since entrainment and rate of deposition. Modern sea-ice rafting represents substantial fraction of total Arctic Ocean sediment budget. |
