Record #122824:

Geometry and flow conditions of subglacial water at South Cascade Glacier, Washington state, U.S.A.; an analysis of tracer injections / Andrew G. Fountain.

Title: Geometry and flow conditions of subglacial water at South Cascade Glacier, Washington state, U.S.A.; an analysis of tracer injections / Andrew G. Fountain.
Author(s): Fountain, Andrew G.
Date: 1993.
In: Journal of Glaciology. (1993.), Vol. 39(131) (1993)
Abstract: Results indicate that two distinct drainage basins on glacier feed two main streams flowing from glacier. These are described. Study differs from previous tracer studies in that results are compared to model in which velocity and dispersion result from mechanics of flow rather than as adjustable parameters. This allows estimate of path length, water depth and channel width. Flow condition of conduit can be determined from relation between travel time of tracer and water discharge.
