Record #122795:

De første erhvervsmotorbåde / Sven Rask.

Title: De første erhvervsmotorbåde / Sven Rask.
Translated title: The first commercial motor-boat.
Author(s): Rask, Sven.
Date: 1993.
Language: Danish.
In: Grønland. (1993.), Vol. 41(3) (1993)
Abstract: Article relates introduction of motor boats into Greenland fisheries, sealing, whaling, shrimping and Sunday hunting. Altered natural conditions, outside competition, over-fishing, destructive and out-of-season hunting of, for example, walruses, mean that economics of boat-ownership are always changing. All has taken place this century, and author concludes with plea for veterans to record their experiences - from journeys in women's boats to summer tents, and whale- and seal-hunts in the drift-ice north-west of Disko, before it is too late.
