| Abstract: | Material gathered from 203 structured interviews and Letters to the Editor in newspapers. Results indicate generally favourable attitude, though not so much in favour of any increase. Most emphasised contributions to incomes and employment, transport and range of leisure activities. Most favourable attitudes among males in more than average contact with tourists. Drawbacks were opportunity costs and damage to environment. |
