Abstract: Article tells how reindeer manage to cope with extreme temperatures while keeping the main body, especially the brain, at constant level. Heat production, insulating coat, avoidance of loss through nose, economy of effort, permitted cooling of legs and finally way of cooling after extreme physical effort are all described with illustrations.
