Record #122645:

Laboratory measurements of the loss of ClO on Pyrex, ice and NAT at 183 K / R.D. Kenner, I.C. Plumb, K.R. Ryan.

Title: Laboratory measurements of the loss of ClO on Pyrex, ice and NAT at 183 K / R.D. Kenner, I.C. Plumb, K.R. Ryan.
Author(s): Kenner, R. D.

Date: 1993.
In: Geophysical Research Letters. (1993.), Vol. 20(3) (1993)
Abstract: Upper limits for rates of loss of ClO on Pyrex at 295 K, Cl₂ on ice at 183 K, and O₃ on Pyrex, ice and nitric acid trihydrate (NAT) surfaces at 183 K were also determined. In all cases, probability of loss of species from gas phase upon collision with surface is less than 10⁻⁴. These small values make it probable that heterogeneous reactions involving these species are unimportant in winter polar stratosphere.
