Record #122641:
Subdivision of Late Pleistocene moraines in the Cordillera Blanca, Peru, based on rock-weathering features, soils, and radiocarbon dates / Donald T. Rodbell.
Title: | Subdivision of Late Pleistocene moraines in the Cordillera Blanca, Peru, based on rock-weathering features, soils, and radiocarbon dates / Donald T. Rodbell. |
Author(s): | Rodbell, Donald T. |
Date: | 1993. |
In: | Quaternary Research. (1993.), Vol. 29(2) (1993) |
Abstract: | Weathering-post height, soil development, and radiocarbon dates support fourfold division of Pleistocene moraines on west side of range: Manachaque moraines 13.5-10.3 ka BP; Laguna Baja moraines older than 13.3 ka BP; Rurec moraines older than 19.7-590 ka BP; and Cojup moraines older than 4.3 Ma. Most temporally detailed moraine sequence recognized in Peruvian Andes. |
Notes: | Quaternary Research. Vol. 29(2) :133-143 (1993). |
Keywords: | 551.33 -- Glacial geology. 551.332.52 -- Moraines, terminal and recessional. 551.336 -- Ice ages. 551.791 -- Pleistocene. 551.337 -- Chronology of the Pleistocene and recent periods. 550.93 -- Geochronology. 539.16 -- Radio-carbon dating.
