A ship in compressive ice. Analysis of the ice failure process. Report from the joint Finnish-Russian research project / Pentti Kujala, Robert Goldstein, Nikolai M. Osipenko, Valery Danilenko.

Title: A ship in compressive ice. Analysis of the ice failure process. Report from the joint Finnish-Russian research project / Pentti Kujala, Robert Goldstein, Nikolai M. Osipenko, Valery Danilenko.
Author(s): Kujala, Pentti.
Goldstein, Robert.
Osipenko, Nikolai M.
Danilenko, Valery.
Date: 1993.
Publisher: Otaniemi: Helsinki University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Ship Laboratory
Abstract: Phenomena observed in two model-scale test series form foundation for theoretical models. Ice is described with two-dimensional beam model lying on elastic foundation. Study includes analysis of ice crushing and effect of crushing forces on behaviour of ice plate.
