Abstract: | Although Svalbard contains long Quaternary stratigraphic record of deglacial events, little is known about duration of individual events. Present study focuses on defining duration and completeness of Late Weichselian--Early Holocene emergence sequence by intensive radiocarbon dating by AMS of monospecific samples of foraminifera in sediments which are contemporaneous with retreat of Late Weichselian outlet glaciers and subsequent postglacial isostatic rebound. |
