Record #122569:

Abrupt increase in Greenland snow accumulation at the end of the Younger Dryas event / Richard B. Alley, and 10 others.

Title: Abrupt increase in Greenland snow accumulation at the end of the Younger Dryas event / Richard B. Alley, and 10 others.
Author(s): Alley, Richard B.
Date: 1993.
In: Nature. (1993.), Vol. 362(6420) (1993)
Abstract: Presents results from new ice core showing that snow accumulation doubled rapidly from Younger Dryas event to subsequent preboreal interval, possibly in one to three years. Also found that change in accumulation rate from Oldest Dryas to Bølling/Allerød warm period was large and abrupt. Extreme rapidity of these changes in variable that directly represents regional climate implies that events at end of last glaciation may heve been responses to threshold or trigger in North Atlantic climate system.
