| Abstract: | Multichannel seismic data acquired over northern Pacific margin of Peninsula show presence of high-amplitude sub-bottom reflections across part of South Shetland accretionary prism. Reports detailed seismic data analysis to assign this bottom-simulating reflector to base of stability field for methane hydrate. Represents first evidence of gas hydrate layers in Antarctic Peninsula region. |
