Record #122508:
On the transport and angular momentum balance of channel models of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current / David N. Straub.
Title: | On the transport and angular momentum balance of channel models of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current / David N. Straub. |
Author(s): | Straub, David N. |
Date: | 1993. |
In: | Journal of Physical Oceanography. (1993.), Vol. 23(4) (1993) |
Abstract: | Investigates dynamics of wind-driven flow in a channel from perspective of angular momentum, with particular attention to relationship between angular momentum and meridional circulation. Finds that topographic form drag is established very early in the integration, whereas interfacial form drag can take much longer to develop. |
Notes: | Journal of Physical Oceanography. Vol. 23(4) :776-782 (1993). |
Keywords: | 551.46 -- Oceanography, physical. 551.465 -- Oceanography, dynamics. 551.465.15 -- Turbulence and eddies. 551.465.5 -- Ocean currents. C -- Oceanography, hydrography and hydrology. (*7) -- Antarctic regions. (*80) -- Southern Ocean. |
