Record #122503:

Application of horizontal stress directions interpreted from borehole breakouts recorded by four-arm dipmeter tools / A. Linjordet, O. Skarpnes.

Title: Application of horizontal stress directions interpreted from borehole breakouts recorded by four-arm dipmeter tools / A. Linjordet, O. Skarpnes.
Author(s): Linjordet, A.
Skarpnes, O.
Date: 1993.
Publisher: Amsterdam: Elsevier
In: Arctic geology and petroleum potential : proceedings of the Norwegian Petroleum Society Conference, 15-17 August 1990, Tromsø, Norway. (1993.),
Abstract: Shows how probability for success of exploration prospects may be graded on basis of post migration, principal horizontal stress directions, and orientations of bounding fault. Argued that method may be applicable to Barents Sea where tectonic history complicates search for hydrocarbon-filled traps.
