Record #122433:
Stratospheric ClO and ozone from the Microwave Limb Sounder on the Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite / J.W. Waters, and 7 others.
Title: | Stratospheric ClO and ozone from the Microwave Limb Sounder on the Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite / J.W. Waters, and 7 others. |
Author(s): | Waters, J. W. |
Date: | 1993. |
In: | Nature. (1993.), Vol. 362(6421) (1993) |
Abstract: | Reports concentrations of atmospheric ozone and ClO for both Arctic and Antarctic winters of past 18 months. Chlorine in lower stratosphere almost completely converted to chemically reactive forms in both northern and southern polar winter vortices. Over Antarctica, this occurred long before development of ozone hole suggesting that ozone loss can be masked by influx of ozone-rich air. |
Notes: | Nature. Vol. 362(6421) :597-602 (1993). |
