Record #122422:

Empirical linkages between Arctic sea ice extents and northern hemisphere mid-latitude column ozone levels / John R. Marko, David B. Fissel.

Title: Empirical linkages between Arctic sea ice extents and northern hemisphere mid-latitude column ozone levels / John R. Marko, David B. Fissel.
Author(s): Marko, John R.
Fissel, David B.
Date: 1993.
In: Geophysical Research Letters. (1993.), Vol. 20(1) (1993)
Abstract: Statistically significant correlations are demonstrated between annual mean column ozone data collected at mid-latitude sites and mean annual and winter sea-ice extents east of Greenland and in Barents and Kara seas. Results are discussed with reference to locations of correlated parameters relative to "basic pattern" of stratosphere--solar flux correlations. Possibilities for underlying linkage mechanisms are considered and related to recent decreasing hemispheric ozone level trends.
