Record #122414:

Characteristics of an ice-scoured river bank near Keele River confluence, Mackenzie valley, Northwest Territories / G.R. Brooks.

Title: Characteristics of an ice-scoured river bank near Keele River confluence, Mackenzie valley, Northwest Territories / G.R. Brooks.
Author(s): Brooks, G. R.
Date: 1993.
In: Geological Survey of Canada. Paper. (1993.), Vol. 93-1B (1993)
Abstract: Shearing of river ice along eastern bank of Mackenzie River produced zone of scoured boulder pavement 4 to 13 m above river surface, sloped 40 to 50° with concave-upwards profile and etched with lineations parallel to river surface. Development and preservation of this distinctive morphology may relate to strength of materials in lower area of river bank.
