Characteristics of an ice-scoured river bank near Keele River confluence, Mackenzie valley, Northwest Territories / G.R. Brooks.
Title: | Characteristics of an ice-scoured river bank near Keele River confluence, Mackenzie valley, Northwest Territories / G.R. Brooks. |
Author(s): | Brooks, G. R. |
Date: | 1993. |
In: | Geological Survey of Canada. Paper. (1993.), Vol. 93-1B (1993) |
Abstract: | Shearing of river ice along eastern bank of Mackenzie River produced zone of scoured boulder pavement 4 to 13 m above river surface, sloped 40 to 50° with concave-upwards profile and etched with lineations parallel to river surface. Development and preservation of this distinctive morphology may relate to strength of materials in lower area of river bank. |
